Nokia N95 "US 3G" - is this a fake? |

I thought MobilePlanet was somewhat reputable, but this product page of theirs makes me doubtul:

They have yet to respond to my e-mail inquiry about it. Anyone know anything? I though the "US 3G" version of the N95 was just a rumor at this point.
Moderators: Since this is about a USA-specific device, please keep this in this forum! Thanks

The plot thickens - here's the response from Mobile Planet!
What would you like for me to elaborate on? It's a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE phone with US 3G support (850/1900). We also have the UK version that supports the EU 3G network (2100).
Thank you,

I submitted this info to Phonescoop, and this was their response
That's bogus. No such thing exists. I even just checked with Nokia, and they insist it cannot be real.

But then MobilePlanet claims:
I have them in stock. We have shipped them to customers who have used them. The box even has the US 3G data specs on the side of the box. They exist, we have them. If you want one, call me, I'll have one shipped to you.

Have him send you pictures of the box and upload please. That'd be some really good news for me since 3G's gonna be rolled out here next year and it'll probably use the US's darn 3G bands. Also, will it be able to make video calls. AFAIK, you can't do that just yet in the USA.

Over on Cingular's forums, there was mention of an S60 conference in Chicago this week/end. It's rumored that the US-compatible N95 will be officially launched there.
Also, a few have already purchased this item from MobilePlanet. I'll keep an eye out for their posts and report back.

.. and it turns out, it was an error on MobilePlanet's part. The item page has been changed and no longer says "US 3G."
One of the posts on HoFo said it best...

Don't know but found this. It has a typo in it though, which makes it suspect.
