Thought I should post and set afew records straight about this new device.

I had my Bluespoon Special Edition for three days and have had to return it. The resaon for this was that no matter which spring I used, after about 30mins of use I was in agony! The fit inside my ear was really painful.

As far as it's positive points goes I would list these as:

-V small!
-Excellent battery life
-Fab WOW factor

Negative points are

-PAINFUL! Could only wear for 30 mins max.
-Flashing lights too bright (you think there is a police car behind you when you are driving at night), plus it just looks plain old weird- I couldnt wear it walking down the street.
-Button placement means you have to apply presure to your ear canal whilst actuating them
- Volume control you have to press the button LOADS to get to full volume (like 50 times!)
-Speaker volume whilst good if the device is positioned properly becomes inaudible if the unit twists slighty.
-Microphone makes you sound like you are in a big empty room, on a speakerphone (I found myself having to shout to make myself understood).
-The delay between initiating a voice dial (presing a button on the unit) and the phone beeping to indicate it is ready for you to speak can be really long (like 10 secs)
-Lack of any good support on the website.

Having said all that I would not have returned the item if it had not been painful to wear- all the other problems I could have lived with.

I have now swapped it for a HBH-30 and a whopping £100 refund!

I hope this helps people make an informed decision on wether to buy this item or not. I was kind of sucked in by the hype and was quite disappointed.

Thanks!

I was going to get one but decided not to fairly quick. Nothing to do with what you are saying but due to the fact that it can only be used on your right ear. My hearing is a bit set back on my right ear, so I always put my phone up to the left ear. I an sure it is a fab piece of kit, but it just would not be fit for me.

Hi i think i have to agree with allabaster in many repects. many might find it comfortable, but i dont find it comfortable for more than 20 mins or so. it applies too much pressure on the ear canal.

i promote this product highly here in the UK and have sold over 30 myself in 2 weeks, still awaiting on feedback.

perhaps a suggestion would be to replace the hardened plastic with strengthned foam or rubber?

John (jn76?) let me know what you think please. Jag

true, but it is cutting edge technology and as with all ground breakers, improvents im sure will be made. Many might find the bluespoon comfortable, but the NEEDS of everyone need to be looked at, not just the AVERAGE person....agree?

Totally agree about all points mentioned above - it's very uncomfortable after 10 minutes, actually painful to the point of tears.
The speaker part needs more work - some foam or adaptive gel would do nicely - like the one used on some Swiss pens for finger grip.
Sound quality is simply crap, it constantly breaks up and it makes you sound like you're speaking from the cave. I expected FAR more from an expensive little gadget like BS.
Pressing buttons applies even more excruciating on the ear canal and that is unavoidable as it doesn't support the 'magic word'

I don't know - nice product for sure but...so immature.

Titanium

forgot to mention - 3 of my friends who are shorter than me (around 170 cm tall) can't even fit the BS in their ear canals!! Serious design overlook, I believe.

Good to hear from you on this- I was a little worried that I had freakishly small ears or something.

I have some of those sony headphones and totally agree- some sort of choice in which size inner ear cuff to use would potentially solve the problem.

Also mounting the buttons on the top and bottom of the unit would mean you didnt have to push into your ear.

Also I think if some form of soft plastic/foam was used instead of the hard plastic for the ear piece then it could also help to hold the unit in place- possibly removing the need for the spring, which I also think is partially responsible for the painfullness of the unit.

Shall I consider myself lucky? I really don't seem to have all the problems you guys have.
I could wear my Bluespoon for hours without even feeling it. Sounds quality is excellent and people can ear me very well except if I am in a noisy environment.

I also had to return mine.

Chipping paint and kind of bad sound.

The thing is that i sent it to Nextlink 14 days ago, and still no unit in return...

thanks for starting this thread and giving feedback about the BS. I think I can wait till the product is fully redesigned to fix most of the weaknesses.

funny...

diff ppl has diff ear forms, sizes..

how can you think there is a police car behind you when the BS blue blinks once every 10 secs. and the red blinks every 10secs if the power supply is low.
how can u see the flashes behind your ear?

i dont think u can wear hbh-10 to hbh-30, jabra, mot bt in the street w/o looking weird too. this is a new tech, not many ppl knows abt bt esp the nokia users.

pressing the buttons wont hurt my ear, it's a matter of holding the bs while pressing the buttons.

hbh-30 has more echo sound compare to BS.

why do u have to shout out loud to be able to understand yourself?

it only takes 2-3 secs for the voice command to initiates after pressing the 2 buttons.

im not sure if u need web support w/ any bt as it's like a pair and wear thing.

the BS is indeed expensive...

The blue light flash on the unit is so bright that when driving at night the interior of the car lights up blue- my instinctive reaction is to check my mirror to see if a police car is behind me. This isnt just me being paranoid- other people have mentioned this too.

My general point about the Bluespoon is that whilst it is excellent technology, I expect it not to have the problems it does- especially for the money that it costs. I would expect these problems to be highlighted in testing and rectified prior to release.
