Does any one know about this accessory from Sony Ericsson?
I want one for myself. But it is not available in my place.
Bluetooth Car CAR-100
The most original accesory for Bluetooth phones: a radio controlled car
During CeBit 2003, Sony Ericsson's stand shown a circuit where one could control some small cars from T68i phones through Bluetooth. The demonstration was so successful that Sony Ericsson has decided to launch it to the market, for the joy of kids and the grown-ups.
Key features:
It's charged by connecting it directly to the phone
Works in a distance of up to 10 meters
The phone doesn't need any additional software or configuration
The car.
The application on phone.
The car.
Thanks!! |

I still have one but I only get about 5 mins from a full charge these days.
its more of a desktop ornament really. shame SE didn't continue this line with more of the same, and the ROB-1

They stopped the Car100 two years ago when they changed the charger port on the phones. The Car100 used the old style charger connector to charge from the phone so wouldnt be able to charge from the modern phones.

its not really a reason to stop this accessory line though when they could simply start producing them with the new port
these car-100 gave us something fun to do with the phones, and it was even better on the p series with the graphical interface

me too, just to keep the battery charged. I know it will die one day though but I do vaguelly recall a thread where it was mentioned that you can replace the battery

I may buy one of these (if I can find one!) and go about modifying it to fastport connector. Surely aslong as we get the pin layout of both fastport and old style connectors it would be possible to resolder the wires on and cut a whole big for a fastport to sit in, perhaps using a fastport USB cable as the doner as it has all pins present.
Can anyone help me out here by trying to pair the car with a recent phone (K800 onwards, pref not a smartphone for now atleast) and after charging with an old phone see if it works?
Thanks

Is there any chance that SE will start manufacturing these toys again.
Does any one know... any inside news maybe...

I doubt it. The closest they have at the moment is the MBW-100 bluetooth watch. I wish that they had gone ahead with the ROB-1 bluetooth robot.

Well thats good new masseur. Did you get the same screen as on a pre-fastport phone? Did you happen to try it with your M600? That may be interesting to see what happens.

as I mentioned in the K810 thread, its been a while since I had a K800, but from my recollection I recall that there was nothing on screen. once it paired it just worked.
the P series required separate software to control the car and that software is not compatible with UIQ3, of course, so I never bothered even trying with the M600
