Why dont you go to gmail.com/app and download the Gmail application for your P990i.Its a great app.Really fast.Id get that instead of using the phones email client.

Or you go to Help on Gmail.com and they'll tell you how to do it. Forget about the web interface, it's crap.

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server - requires SSL: pop.gmail.com [INCOMING SERVER ADDRESS]

Use SSL: Yes [ITS IN ADVANCE OPTION]
Port: 995 [ADVANCE OPTION]

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS: smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)

Use Authentication: Yes

Use STARTTLS: Yes (some clients call this SSL) [ADVANCE OPTION AND THERE SELECT TLS]

Port: 465 or 587

Account Name: your Gmail username (including @gmail.com)

Email Address: your full Gmail email address (username@gmail.com)

Password: your Gmail password

[IN INCOMING ADVANCE OPTION DO NOT SELECT SECURE PASSWORD OR WHATEVER IS IT]

DONE

* Did you click 'Save Changes' after enabling POP in Gmail? To ensure that Gmail can communicate with your mail client, be sure to click Save Changes on the Gmail Mail Settings page.
