hi am thinking of buying a unlocked or orange/vodafone locked Nokia N95 on ebay as soon as my phone is sold. However looking to spend around £300 and don't want to get stung with a scammer or anything like that. Any telltale signs or any advice people could give me
?
thanks
Jack

@spikeyjac

If you really are determined to get one off E-Bay you need to remember if it's to good to be true it is likely to be a scam.

Buy from some one that has been a member for quite a while a year is a good sign a month isn't, and has lots of positive feed backs for similar priced items 50 positives for goods all costing less that £5 doesn't inspire confidence.

Try and buy from a seller that has the £500 Pay Pal protection and don't rely on them saying this it needs to be below their user id, as at least this way if you pay with Pay Pal and it goes wrong you will get paid out.

But if you can find one here from a trusted trader the extra £20 odd IMO is worth the peace of mind.

I bought my n95 off ebay about 2 weeks after it came out for £350 and it was an o2 handset with the 1gb memory card. I had no problems and it arrived the next day, however i did only bid on sellers with 98%+ feedback and at least 1 year of trading. Not everyone on ebay is a scammer quite the opposite in fact imo.

QVGA & Magg.
Yup I know ive learn't thru bad mistakes with the fake N 91 etc

I bought a BNIB N95 on T-Mobile last friday the auction said it was unlocked when I get it yesterday it's locked on T-Mobile the seller swears she's had it unlocked she's got the proof,

however she is gunna pay me back any unlocking fee If I can get it unlocked myself, thing is T-Mobile can only do this atm!

My Seller had 10% feedback at 100%
I knew I was taking a risk but everything turned out fine

if buying one make sure the seller is 100% no bad comments on there feedback etc..

@MissUK,

100% really isn't necessary you should read to see what the negative is for, I was selling some Hackett Polo Shirts and although i now have 157 positives i have only 99.4% as one shirt i sent was apparently the wrong size. The buyer didn't bother contacting me and asking fora replacement and just left my only negative, hardly deserved or my fault as i would of happily sent a the correct size if asked. So IMO even a few negatives on a lot of trades is no indication of a problem. To me a seller that offers the £500 Pay Pal guarantee if far more important as some sellers with 100% positive feedback don't have this and this gives much more security should something go wrong than 100% positive feedback on expensive items.

I got my off ebay with a guy with 3 rating...he send me picture with his name on (id) written beside it...and he answers my question very well.

AS for product code and if there is shaky sliders, humming noise from the screen. I got both of that...whihc is bad but I am getting used to it. But I got it for 700 USD with extra Nokia batter, 1GB, extra charger, and extra protective film, and it was the SAND color that I want.

The guy ended the auction for me when it was going for 765..and 5 hours left..I was really suspecting, but he seems like a honest guy and the deal was so hard to refuse. Oh and he declare the item as gift.... ). Big sellers will not do that for ya!

Just make sure you ask the guy everything, and he answers all the questions...was it droped , everything works, warranty, where he bought it and etc.

ive never had a bad feedback and ive been buying and selling on eBay since the days of the Samsung A300
(was the first item I ever bought of there)

ive had a few idiots who tried to get there cashback after they broke the item I sent, but PayPal were on my side all the way thru,

hence that person was booted of eBay after that aswell

is there any pictures of the Sand N95 who's got that post pics up,
I guess mines the Plum as it looks purple

btw it just goes to show there are some good sellers outhere on eBay though, ive also swapped things on there Nokia 6230i for a D750i which was a week old lol
