Depends how big the pictures are.
You have less than 2 megs to use on your phone.

it is anywhere from 930kb-1050kb depending on the hw... so with like an avg size of a pic being 7-8k... you can figure it out....

It's not exactly 1mb. When you load a picture onto the phone, it will take sometime for the phone the load/show the picture. Check the memory at this time and you might notice that the memory taken up is more than that of the actual size. This is especially obvious for screensavers, ie animated gifs eg 12 k gif becomes 30-??k depending on the number of frames that the gif have. I guess the phone has to load the pic into a format that it can load faster (maybe to save battery?). So dont really think that you can store 1mb of pic...

The phone has about 960kb storage. How it manages that memory to load pics or screensavers is another matter altogether. I find that as a general rule of thumb, screensavers need about 3-4 times its actual file size to be able to play on the phone. eg. you've got a 25kb screensaver, you need about 75-100kb free memory for the screensaver to show up. But it does depend on the number of frames as well. [addsig]

I was playing with a 7650 at the weekend and took and sent a few picture to my T68. Not realising that one of the pictures was about 200k, it transferred over and back ok but the T68 refused to display it. Just got a big red X...

Haven't read anywhere that there was a size limit, ideas anyone?

I got the big red X also. Its when the picture your sending to the phone exceeds a certain size. T68 only displays picture 101X80 pixels.

It's really weird, I did a smaller version of the picture (20k) and the T68 basically fits it to size keeping aspect ratio to show it on the screen. So it looks really bad compared to what it should look like.

It would be nice if there was a zoom feature, like on the 7650...

Displaying images in the T68i is limited to 101x80 visible area for GIF and JPEG formats, but the image themselves can be max 640x480 for JPEG and 160x120 for GIF. It's no max file size. The limitation is the free memory in the phone. Around 800Kb is available for user data.

@laffen : I agree, the phone can store the image, but you try and display a 200k and see what you get...
