longer batt. life when surfing with opera mini |

Been using opera mini to surf web and noticed a nice plus to it my batt. on phone lasts twice as long . anyone else notice this ?

Don't think so, the time for which the connection remains active (connected) determines batt. life... Maybe in opera there is less 'stress' on the connection...

@aatuif - me thinks compared to a browser that handles 6-10 times the data, operamini might actually be easier on the battery?! Clearly, staring at the same page for 2 hrs doesn't use as much power as surfing 50 sites in 2 hrs, so traffic/data-flow obviously makes a difference! Ergo, operamini, compressing heavily, would save battery-life compared to opera mobile or net-thingy or safari... Eh???

thats with heavy use as between forums, chatsites downloading mp3s, themes games and shopping I use alot of data daily. avg 4-6 hrs daily surfing web on mobile.

yes.you are right.as opera mini uses less bytes to load a webpage.so it speedy and uses less battery
