Can anyone tell me in brief summary what the major differences between the two phones are.
I am sorely tempted by the Nokia e61i, once it is widely available but the N95 seems to have it all and is available now. Will the E61i be worht the wait?

Thanks in advance.

if size bothers you then the N95 will be your choice

(E61i is just 1mm diff from E61)

Hi all,

Not forgetting the E61i has a full qwerty keypad and an excellent one at that, the N95 IMO is more multimedia focused although is more than able to handle business apps.

Whilst the E61i is more business focused with the ability to still perform as an excellent MP3 player and Video player also the E series offers the best build quality out of all the Nokia ranges and although quite wide to accommodate the beautiful screen and qwerty it really is not that big IMO.

Having said that anything after my N93 is going to seem small now that was a big device.

Marc

Well i've used both S80 9500 and S60e3 N95 and its the size that is most limiting to me. I know the E61i isnt quite as big but still, its down to wether you want a qwerty or you dont mind T9.... [addsig]

Very interesting - thanks for your replies. My verdict thus far? well...

masseur - that picture was really helpful, I had no idea that there was such a size differential between the two. This is a consideration.

I'm not bothered about the camera - it's for business that I will mostly use the phone. Similarly, GPS would be nice, but I have Tom Tom in the car anyway, so again, not a deal breaker.

I have heard mixed reports re battery life on the N95 and suspect its not quite as bad as some people claim (-also applies to the build quality). If I have to charge up every night, so be it. On the other hand, the SW issues fill me with dread and I happen to know the E61 was as stable as they come... major factor.

Thus, I think overall its going to be worth a modest wait for the E61i to arrive on Orange...I'll give it 2 months max.

On a slightly separate note, I've been visiting Esato for a number of years now. How dissapointing that the phones that get me excited never seem to be SE anymore. Who else remembers the fun we had discussing the T68 and the big wait for the T68i. Those were the days!

@wuz,
you won't regret the wait! I've only ( ) got the e61, but that one's brilliant - almost 8 months and zero problems, all fun and efficiency! Mind you, I also got an n91 (I'm quite a music fan) and a wm treo 750...both of which I could hardly be bothered to even charge!!! E61 is the deal!!! E61i can't be a mistake!!!! Enjoy the wait! heres another size comparison with more angles:

i've used both phones and bought an E61i since.... the build quality and sleekness of the E61i blows the N95 out of the water.
