Does the P800 works on the plane?! coz it is just like a typical PDA, and PDA's work in the planes with no radio emmisions (if its equipped with a modem)...

Also does the P800 support polyphonics? ie. several rings played at once, just like the Samsung SGH-N620?

The P800 will have a Flight Mode, only the PDA unit of the phone will them work. So, yes it can be used on a plane. It will have WAV as well. Record your favorite song and use it as a ringtone.

Really? PDA functions only will be on? Does this means that I will not be able to play all the cool games and songs unless I have my phone on? Or they can be used in plane mode?!

Sorry mate. I was a bit hasty there... You can turn off the phone unit, the rest will work as normal. Games, MP3, PDA and the rest.

I can only tell you what I've been told by SE. The release of the P800 will start off in limited quantities, for selected markets, in mid December. The rest of us will have to wait till January next year.

Other phones like the Motorola Accompli can switch off the phone functions so it works just in PDA only mode - however, some airline crews may ask you to switch off the device regardless (either because they don't know or don't believe your phone is switched off or it may be airline policy).

You can try and explain the situation, but up on the plane whatever they say goes and you can legally get handcuffed if you make too much of a fuss (and then fined for causing trouble)!

Best thing is to explain and ask everytime, before you decide to use PDA only mode on an aircraft!

I got a lot of stink eyes when I used my P800 on the plane in Flight Mode so I turned it off all together. Didn't want to cause any trouble.

Agreed. Both times I was playing with my P800 on the plane, the stewards came and asked me to shut the phone off.
