with orange uk, you have to ring up cust. services and request an unlock code.
i'm not sure how much they will charge, but it will probably be between £20-£30

Just get it done down the local market stall for about £5 or buy a service cable and use SETool/SEMCTool (depending on CID)

Try saying you took on a temp job/assignment in a country where orange in no way operate, and that you have to use your employer's sim!!! I just got an almost brandnew voda Ireland phone unlocked free of charge (had only topped up by euro 10.00 in total ) when I emailed them about my new job in Libya(I said I'd split my time between ireland and Libya...)! Usually they only unlock prepay phones once you spent euro 130.00!!! [addsig]

if you had it for a while you can call them and tell them that you are leaving the country for a business trip...they did not charge my friend when he did that.

Orange will charge £15 for an unlock code, and they stated when I last did it for a W850i it would take 10 days - and it actually arrived the next day!

Though you could probably get it done cheaper going to your local phone shop or market stall and they should do it for £10, or PM someone like Gregface, who might do it for a couple of quid cheaper
