Hubby wants a new pair of earbud style headphones (the style like HPM-70). Not for phone, but for general use, must have a decent length of wire.

Can anyone recommend any?

Would personally recommend either Sony EXS71 or Bose Tru series both of which I own! The Bose have a fantastic build and sound quality but feel kinds arkward when wearing them-the Sony's aren't quite as deep in sound but perform really well and have 2 lengths, normal 1.5m and reduced size which means if he ever uses a remote control extention for his MP3 player there perfect! Plus they come in Black or White and are only about £20 on Amazon.co.uk compared to £40+ in HMV or Virgin Megastores!

I recommend the Bose Tri Port In Ear. For the money, they're very "pleasant" IEMs. Shure and Etys are kinda geared more towards people who are used to "flat" sounding IEMs. I've found most people end up liking the Bose more (I sell both the Shure and Bose... I personally use the Shure E3s, and own a pair of the Bose IEMs) When I say "for the money" I say that cuz I'm not fond of how the Shure E2s sound... over the Bose anyway... I like my E3s, but they cost more than the Bose.

Other brands I'd look into are AKG and Senns. They both have affordable entries in the IEM range.

I had HPM-70 ear buds when I got my W550i, I found them so comfortabe I bought an extension lead as they have a standard 3.5mm jack plug on them. They also work with every other SE phone I've had since.

jplacson lol e2cs are not that bad compared to the Bose Triport IEs
compare Boses with some Etys in this price range(ER6i in mind, though these Etys are even cheaper(76$),UE SuperFi 3s(76$))
but the best comparison is between the Bose IE Triports and the Westone UM1s(109$).Westones are way better than the Boses, really. Its time for people to understand that Bose is just a "name" with good image, but nothing more.(in sound terms,I mean.Boses are really comfortable and shiny, have a nice box and etc. which are also good things, but their real price should be around 50-60$ IMO)

Sony MDR EX85 - i mentioned them on another headphone thread. there like the MDR EX71 except they have a larger driver unit and are more comfortable. and they have a generous length lead. Good quality sound too...

o and you can get them if a few different colours. try ebay

sound and the quality is excellent - use them on the phone and my ipod
