Can anyone help with this problem please? I have some MPS-60 portable speakers that work fine in a friend's phone, but not in my W810i. There is no sound from them at all. The headphones work fine in the same socket.
Thanks.

What kind is the other phone? Also, is this a carrier branded W810?

The other phone is one of the new ultra thin models (W880i I think).

My phone is a vodafone 'pay as you go' bought from Amazon. The phone has the vodafone logo on the casing and several vodafone menus in the software.

EDIT: my vodafone k800i(flashed generic with wotan) and t-mobile(flashed generic with davinci) both work with the MPS-60 so if i were you id try debranding

that's very odd. could it be a problem with the connectors on the speakers? maybe give them a good wipe, and then try again? what does it say when you pop it in? or it doesn't do anything at all?

Just tried wiping it - but still the same. Nothing happens at all when I plug the speakers in (no icon appears). All that happens is that the internal speaker stops playing so all you get is silence!

that's odd. never had this trouble with my phones before, a wipe usually does a trick. so it works with your friend's phone, how about other compatible SE phones? it could be a problem with your phone.
