P990i Radio don't work |

Having trouble: attaching handsfree, all OK.
Trying to turn on radio, media player freezes until I remove and turn back handsfree. Then the radio interface appears.
But... no sounds in headphones at all. At the left side of the screen the mute indicator lit. When turning off - nothing changes.
Trying to set frequency manually - no result, still 87.5.
No zone, no RDS, no sound.
Firmware: last (before flashing problem already was).
Handsfree: 100% workable (at another P990i radio plays, at my P990i I can speak by phone, so, wires not affected).
Has anyone something looks like this?

As far as im aware,and mine is in front of me,there's no radio on the p900i!! |

you said "before flashing problem already was" so this means it's a hardware problem. since when your radio stopped working?

Radio don't work since I got the phone in april 20.
You're right - sure that's hardware problem also.
May be You have any solutions or service manuals? |

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem than you after a software upgrade i.e.: The radio does not work, when starts is muted and hungs up until I remove the headphones.
Did yiu find a solution?

I too have just updated and now have a corrupt radio, when i try to start it it says corrupt, thats it!
It was working perfectly before the firmware change.. I did a restore before i tried it so it could be the restore .
I guess i could of tried it before restoring but you dont expect the update to break things. It also corrupted my Opera so i had to install again, there a new version now anyway.
I like the new loading bar and the volume is definately louder through speaker and bluetooth! |

Cauer: sadly no. And noone has heared about such problems.
Probably it's really hardware problem: breaked circuit, burned part...
Log: Is this thing really appeared after the software update?

Yes my radio stopped working after latest update, the one with the progress bar on startup. It worked fine before, but i only tested it after restoring a backup. |

I encountered the same radio problem 7 months back and i was never able to find a way out... Finally, I went to SE Service station and they replaced the whole handset for me... |

Mine radio also stoped working after SW update. When I try to start it, it just says CORRUPT. Nothing else and it fckn pisses me off! Any news about it? |

its simple...master reset or format internal drive and do not restore old backups...if the problem is not hardware related, this will fix it

How can I get thing back on as they were (settings and data) if not restoring? |

You can't revert the firmware (software) by restoring so I guess the only way would be to flash the phone again with an earlier version of the software.
SEUS can't (or won't!) do this, not sure if one of the online services like wotan or davinci can? Maybe somebody can shed some light on this?

Most of us with R5A17 have the radio working, people that donīt have it working suffered from a bad flash process, so to correct it they need a master reset/internal drive format, with or without a reflash (makbil reported he just had to make a master reset and the radio started working again)
About restoring old settings and data, for people with severe problems like these should make it all manualy...but hey, it might work just doing a master reset and restoring the settings normally...
