Problems with N95 Build Quality Only |

Hi Guys!
I am probably going over the Dark Side with the N95 (at least until there is a proper P990 replacement! ) BUT before I jump headfirst in to that, I want to hear from people who have problems with the BUILD QUALITY of their N95's. No problems with spec./features etc. There do seem to be a lot of issues with this when searching all forums!
Appreciate hearing all the Horror stories!

Ok I dont like the screen. The slider is a bit suspect, and the gap between the top part of the screen and bottom allows alot of light from the screen out.
I use a chat application and when you get a message the phone vibrates, the phones has a lot of "shaky bits" and when it vibrated it it sounded like something was broken.

well i'm an SE man through and through, but i got an N95. i have dropped it onto (deep pile) carpet twice and used the slide a lot.
not had any issues at all! but i am still wary of nokia and moving parts ever since i went through 4 Nokia 7100 (3 of which were slider related)
hopefully 8 years on theyve had a chance to fix it....

Funny you dont have a N95... Its not the chat fault its the way the phone vibrates, in silent mode its the same problem.

the backside of n95 looks cheap imo. wish it would be full silver colour, at least that gives a bit metallic shine for the fone.

you just said when you get a message in chat application the phone vibrates. if thats what the case is, its the way the application was designed. |

I like that look, its new different and fresher. The NOKIA written on the battery cover just looks ugly IMO.

what horror story?
I believe many who bought have no wobble problem. Mine did not. So I suspect it maybe a bad batch from a one of the few factories churning out N95.
OS is rock solid. No crashes at all. Some software niggles but nothing serious. Anyway after updating to new firmware the phone OS is even more solid. Battery life is not great but sorry to disppoint you, it is not a horror story either. I can get full 40-48hrs with moderate use (total over period : 50-60mins of calls/about 1 hour using PIMs / 10-20 min surf the net with wifi / a few photos/short video and some music)
Irritation:
- Opening huge web pages (with alot of images) sometimes cause "memory full"
- Multimedia key sometimes stop working
- huge screen attracts finger prints

Mine froze twice and reset a few times to.

are we ficusing now on the features? cos the thread poster aws interested in the built quliaty. we all know that featurewise its the most developed fone on the market, but i am really not sure if we can say the same according the built quality... got one yesterday in my hands again, but it feels way too plastic and the keypad is almost the same as in n80. too soft for my taste.
