i am guessing it will periodically alert you, just like in samsung phone it alerts you of missed calls after a while until you check it.

i noticed the compact charger that came with the N95 had an energy star compliant label on it.

(in the UK) you dont need to unplug things all the time, just switch the socket 'off'.

in other countries that dont use switches on there wall sockets you do need to unplug it when not in use to save on wasted energy.....

good work from nokia tho.

surely fuel cell technology will help the gadget world stay enviromentally friendly [addsig]

Now that's just plain annoying if you charge the phone while you sleep; there should be an option to turn it off.

I'm not sure about other countries, but Australia has switches next to our power sockets so we can turn off the power without unplugging the plug. I only just learnt that the USA doesn't have power switches!

yeah and isnt it also dangerous to plug in something when the switch is "always on"?

no...americans are stupid remember

i frankly think this alert thing is going to be more annoying than useful. i keep my phone on the charger next to me on my desk so as its charging while im working. I want to run my phone off mains while i'm at my desk so that when i actually need to use the battery, theres some power in it

stupid nokia

or they can make a small hydraulic mechanism to push the charger outside the phone's socket.
that way you can leave your phone over night w/o waking in the middle of the night to unplug it

Just charge it in off mode or get one of those switch things that you set and after the time has past it cuts the power.

Overall a good idea if its used the right way and not an inconvenience. although i dont know what the right way is yet.
