Hi guys,

At the weekend i did a master reset on my w800, everything seemed to go ok.
I turned the phone back on, it powered up and got to the screen where it asks if you want to start the phone or just the music, it will let me change between the two options but wont let me select one and where the reception bar in the top left corner should be there is just a red cross.

Anyone any ideas?

Cheers

eh? have you tried pressing the joystick to select? and the red cross is where it's supposed to be, it just means no cell reception.

even if you have your simcard in, the phone won't start cell reception until phone mode is selected. you've tried clicking the buttons but it doesn't work? try going to the service menu, press > * < < * < from the screen. then go to service tests to check if your joystick and keypads are working properly?

A full-reflash may sort this out.

Ok, phone has been taken to peices, cleaned and put back together and still no joy.

It still gets to the start-up screen giving me the 'start phone' option and the 'music only' option.

From there i can press the walkman button and play music, the joystick will navigate the menus but wont let me pick eithe start phone or music only so im stuck in the start up menu.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

you sure you can't get to the service menu from there? although i am sure it can be done. try removing the sim-card and redoing the steps again?

seems like there's no choice left. do what aremaboy says, a full reflash. maybe that'd help?

it's easy. just do a search for the w800i firmware overview thread, there's tons of discussion there and further instructions.

BTW why this weekend? it only takes like 15 minutes with broadband connection.
