Fake HPM-70 question |

Hi all, yesterday i was so desperate cause i spoilt one of my adapter which make me bored cause i cant listen to music while not in home...
so i decided to look for Original HPM-70 like what i've been using for my W550i.
after hours on looking and looking, i bought a HPM70 with SonyEricsson original packaging cost only US$20 (approx.), as i've seen many HPM70 without the package is seliing at US$40 but of course at reliable store.
(i've been buying fake HPM70 before of course)
before i tune in to my K800 using R1JG001, i notice:
~not only it has original packaging but its neatly placed in the box not like the usual fake i've seen.
~the earbud is soft and rough', almost exactly as the original.
~walkman logo in the jack is not easily erased off by alcohol.
it has "new" HPM-70 tag in the wire and also earphone clip
well, seems like this time im getting an original HPM70 instead of the fake one like those i've bought before. However i also notice these:
~the negative and positive phase on left headset is inverted.
~the walkman logo is printed tilted on the jack
~HPM70 tag is loosen (unlike my friend;s original)
~driver in the headset is not properly attached (need to re"glue")
then i decided to open the HPM-70 and invert the positive and negative wire back using soldering iron. again, the weird thing is that of course the headset went hot when the soldering iron tip touch the wire area but then the headset driver seems to be not sticky anymore. i need a glue to secure it although it still works without.
After few minutes of hardworking, finally i get a proper HPM-70. The sound was amazing, much more better than before (of course) and my K800 perform like my old W550.
The question is:
i believe that my HPM-70 is fake cause of those reason although i have another reason stating that it might be original. However the sound produced was just like my old HPM70 which come along with my W550i.
~Why does the fake HPM-70 doing better nowadays?
or Am i getting the original one (but how come its a defective product)?
Hmm i;m impressed by the sound it gave me, but i just could not answer either of those 2 question....
I hope someone could share their opinion here. Thanks.

or maybe SE sell their flawed products on lower cost?

Where did you buy it?
Chances are this is a factory second due to them stuffing up the wiring. Hence they can't sell it off as new? |

hmm im in singapore now... i purposely buy this one cause its cheap and my previous HPM70 from the W550 have been spoilt.
yeah, my friends told me that it might be second factory, cause:
+sound quality good (after inversion)
+it has ear-clip (i don't found this at previous fake HPM70)
+the material used for the jack, earphone and earbud is same like original
+sticker color and quality same like original (it wont easily affected by alcohol)
+it has original HPM-70 packaging and nicely packaged inside the box
-cable inverted
-walkman and SE logo all obliquely paste
-speaker neodymium driver used is "glued" by a cheap glue
my thinking it might be original because of those + reasons. what im confuse is just how come... SE could produce such headset with cable inversion and oblique sticker. or in the other hand... such fake headset could have 99% quality from original...
do you guys experience this before?? i've experience such thing before, but only in the fake HPM-70 which sound horrible, but priced under USD10...
i'll try to post the difference in SE logo between the original and fake... soon...

not much, but if you take a look closer, you'll see that colors and somethings are different than hpm-70

Hmm... too bad. today i just proved that mine is TOTALLY FAKE.
However, I'm surprised to know that original HPM-70 is just WORSE than my fake HPM70. I did not believe my ear and i asked my friend about this. He also said that... this one isn;t fake, but upon looking on the fact that mine is producing different sounds in low-bass, midbass, midrange and high, finally he believed me. Only the lowbass from the original HPM-70 is great, just like my original headset from W550i, however the overall sound of my 3rd FAKE HPM70 was better! although i need to reverse the left cable as a result of the stupidity of fake makers.
I guess i was lucky this time, getting an excellent HPM-70 imitation although its priced about US$20 while the original is US$30+. Previously i've also bought 2 fake of HPM-70 at US$10 but it was totally horrible.
Well, this is just like one in a million but at last i was able to take pic of it, comparing my FAKE HPM70 to 2 ori HPM70. Here is a comparison between them...

very marginal difference between the 2 cosmetically, I have a suspicion that the 'fake' ones could be OEM produced with inferior materials. they could come from the same factory, no discounting that since even the original ones are made in China.
and on the sound, good that you find your 'fake' pair to be equal or even better. a lot of opinions I have read concerns how the 'fake' HPM70 could not replicate the sound of the original ones. my own opinion, get an original pair. even if it costs more, you'd be sure that your product is legit and thus covered under official warranties and such. |

my friend just bought a new hpm-70. when i first saw the packages, i know that's a totally fake (doesn't have walkman logo, just a plain plastic package).
But when i see the content it has all 4 size earbuds.
the sound quality is also good, especially in low frequency tone.
Physically, i also compared this earphone w/ the other hpm-70 which is confirmed original (bundled w/ my friend's W960i) and it's totally same, the only different is color which is grey-blue.
Surprisingly, it also has the serial number (green label near the cable socket).
my question
1. does a green label in SE accessories will confirm that the product is original?
2. Is there any real-original SE accessories without this kind of 'green label' attached to the cable?
here is the photo of the label (hpm-62) just in case if u never seen:
