USB Device Not Recognized - W850i |

I really am having a problem with this cellphone I bought. When I plug it on my computer using the DCU-60 cable, it keeps on saying USB Device Not Recognized! I am truly getting irritated by this! It gives me two options, File Transfer or Phone Mode and either of the two I chose, it sill says USB Device Not Recognized! When I chose File Transfer, the phone still charges. I have tried this: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=123270 and it still doesn't work! When I go to step 7 and click next, it says it wasn't able to find anything so I end up not doing the 9th step! I bought this cellphone with the complete package. I even have the CD but I don't know where the drivers are there! When I installed the CD (Sony Ericsson File Manager, Disc to Phone etc) it still doesn't work! I also tried downloading the Update Service, but still to no avail! Please help me! Please give all the things I need to do to solve this problem! I really would appreciate it! Where can I find the drivers? Thankyou Very Very Very Very Much.
Also I am having a hard time getting the battery cover off! Does any W850i users experience this problem? From the moment I have bought this cellphone, I have never put the battery cover off. The only time it slided was when the saleslady put my sim card on this cellphone. Please help me especially on my first problem. Thanks

Turn off the phone, plug the DCU-60 again. If the problem persists, redo the action. It may be due to loosen pin and bad connectors. Good luck. |

Can you borrow another usb cable and/or re-install pc suite? The other day my pc did the same, borrowed another usb cable; worked fine and right afterwards my old usb cable worked again without problems...

deryck about ur usb cable. 1.Install pc suite again. 2.Connect usb. 3.Select phone mode. (Never file transfer). 4.Go to my phone on your pc. Choose the MSI or MMS and browse the memory stick until u find your content (music, images, vids, etc).

5. After u find the content of ur MS. minimize that page and open the folder where u have the files u wanna transfer. Maximize the MS from the activity bar.
6.Drag and drop the item u want from pc to phone. 7. SE phones use USB v.2.0. |

Now if your pc is old it wont recognize the USB type.
Either your windows is lacking files and requires reinstalling.
P.S. I encountered exactly same problem. |

About the battery cover. Press it on middle and slide down. Try both hands. It will come out. Or better go to a phone shop and just ask them to show u how to take it off. Good luck. |

also when I connect my phone and put it on file transfer, USB Device Not Recognized pops up repeatedly every time for about 5 to 10 times.

when i read some of the guides to solve my problem, some of the steps there required the removal of the battery and the sim card. i would like to ask if the removal of the battery and sim card is necessary to install the drivers or to solve my problem cause i still can't remove the battery cover since i bought it and i was wondering if that problem (the difficulty of removing the glued* [joking] battery cover) was the hindrance to solving my main problem. |

Man u dont need My phone explorer. U only need pc suite. When i said "my phone" i meant go to file manager in pc suite and there's ur phone
. MS, MMS and MSI are shortcut words for memory stick types. U got too complicated back there. |

The battery and the sim card removal have absolute nothing to do with this, so chill . |

To be more specific to step 4 in file manager of pc suite your phone content is found in memory stic as MSSEMC/media files/pictures, sounds...etc. The rest are programs on wich the MS is running on so be careful not to delete any unknown files.
