I think Davinci still do DB2020 (which includes the K800i) unlocking for €50 for a credit, think you might need a service cable to do it though.

Hi
Buy a 3 pay as u go sim and ask them to unlock the phone..
wont cost more than £15 to have them unlock it....
Heres why
In the United Kingdom, government regulator OFCOM dictates that networks must release the unlocking information to customers for non-contract handsets (e.g. Pay as you go) on request. Consumers who purchase handsets under “Pay as you go” or a similar scheme are purchasing the handset outright at the point of sale, this has in effect made phone unlocking in the UK a consumer right.
UK Network providers are permitted to charge a fee for releasing the unlock code, this has prompted smaller businesses to offer cut price unlocking on the UK’s High Streets.
Try it, i have unlocked a few phones in the past...

but why do they offer more freedom for a payg user, as for a contract user, who "pays more" for usage, cos of the contratc and monthly fee?

if you are in Australia. try calling 3 customer care. they will provide the unlock code for free. I got mine today.
tips don't call from the mobile that you are trying to unlock, try calling from alternate number.

I have spoken to T-Mobile today. You can get the unlock code after 1 month of starting the contract and it will take 28 days to get it. It costs £15.
