Ok guys,

PLEASE!! help!!

I just was sent a replacement phone by orange as my p990i was buggy. I have added my active sync details for push email and the IT operator requires activity lock on my phone.

The default is 0000 which I used on my older phone. Now I have tried entering this to unlock the phone and it doesnt work!!

I have also tried 1111. I cant use my phone as it is locked. The only way it will work is if I take the battery out, reset and use before its inactive!

A nightmare to say the least!

Any ideas?

I've posted a topic about the same problem yesterday, since then search further and found this way around it:

There is however a workaround that works fine:
1. Uninstall ActiveSync v.2.010
2. Restart phone
3. Install ActiveSync v.2.007
4. Configure it and perform a full sync (the inactivity lock and screensaver will now be "forced" enabled).
5. End/kill ActiveSync and use SwissManager to kill SyncScheduler (in v.2.007 it's not protected with a "*"...).
6. Disable inactivity lock and screensaver
7. Sync again using ActiveSync
8. Verify that inactivity lock hasn't been activated again, if so redo from pkt 5.
9. Reboot phone and install v.2.010 of ActiveSync (it will actually perform an upgrade).
10. You're done

Havent tried it myself as I got my IT-dptm to change the policy for me.

Pls post result if you try above, want to know.

If you need version 2.007 send me a private message with your email and I will sent it.

Have also been in contact with SE who says its now way to change the default 60 sek before it locks.

do the above, but use the most recent version of AS and use the Pro version of SM to kill Sync Scheduler (SMP can kill systems apps and the demo is sufficient for this task).

Only prob is that turning it off requires the code!

Its a Windows setting so your IT Admin should be able to help.

Once done, the lock never comes back even after a reset. which is great as my IT dept wont change the policy.

yes of course you need code

good tip, didnt know pro-version will kill any app!

dont remember but I think my code was set to my sim-code automatically, could be wrong but worth trying, anyway you must be able to get code from somewhere

There is no default password for Corporate lock.
The password is your own and that one you write while you accept the security policies from server (The message window that says 'The administartor wants to enforce IT policies on your device').

Hi Guys,

Ive been trying frantically to get this to work because the lock is making my life a mysery - especially when having to enter it before you can kill the alarm or a meeting reminder.

Ive got the v2.016 activesync which is the one of the SE website. I have managed to use Process Explorer for UIQ 3.x to kill the Syncscheduler and then disabled the corporate lock.

When i resync the phone the lock is enabled again

Once you have close AS and SSched are you then disabling the lock through the settings menu for AS because that seems to be the only place you can do it. Ive tried through the control panel locks menu but there is no option to disable just says it is enabled.

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Im still trying to no avail.

How is this method supposed to work?

I close activesync and the syncscheduler process no problem. Then when i open active sync again to get into the settings (this is the only way i know to get to the corporate lock) it runs syncscheduler again so i kill it again. I then set lock to disabled which is says is pending. I then run the sync and it opens syncscheduler again and enables the lock like before.

Please if anyone could help i would reallyyyy appreciated it.

Thanks - Bridgstfer
