There is also an app about it. Called earth plus.. (don't remember it clearly).. It has all the maps of the four metros of india. You can try that if gps doesn't work for you. And oh the app requires gprs connection.

GPS should work anywhere in the world. you can download the maps for your country from www.smart2go.com/ which means it wont cost any GPRS

why??? Gps satellites are arranged so that at least six satellites are always within line of sight from almost everywhere on Earth's surface.

This must include India then! so yes it will surely work!!!

well, because of the 'security' reasons in the indian subcontinent it maybe blocked... it's of great strategic importance...
