Someone at my work has a ring tone which I can only describe as a music box melody, a little strange. Initially I thought it was from a scary move, but now I am sure its from an old western, like, The Good The Bad and The Ugle, or A Fist Full Of Dynamite. Something from that era.

Can anyone help me find it, I have searched but couldn’t find anything.

@stevelo - I think I know what you're on about .... it's a small
melody playing during the show down between Lee Van Cleef,
Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach.

It's actually coming from a pocket watch - I think I have it some
where on a backup tape, let me see what I can find (if no one else
get there first !)

No that wasn’t it. I’m sure in one of these spaghetti westerns, the guy takes out a music box and when it stops playing they shot! I’ve got a couple of the movies, so I guess I will just have to watch them again.

Unless someone here knows what I am talking about?

Do a search for Ennio Morricone here.

He wrote the scores for most of the spaghetti westerns!

If you find it let me know and i will send it to you!

@nanu - that's the one I was thinking of .... how ever, my "darling" wife has
just pointed out that there's a Charles Bronson western that has a music
box in it titled "Once upon a time in the west" !!!

I bet it's the one from the 'Fistful of Dollars' series of films. If I remember rightly, a sample of that 'music box' was used in a track that was a hit quite a few years ago now, it was either called or done by someone called '187 lockdown' - anyone remember that?

I just bought, by coincidence, Once Upon a time in the West, Yesterday. So once I watch it I’ll let you know. However I trust your wife is correct!

@nanu*1

That scene is close, but its not it, there is a music box melody in the sound track. I think glorfingal is right and it comes from a pocket watch.

The 1st 22 seconds of a song by 187 lockdown called gunman features the chimes

The actual music is by Ennio Morricone called La Resa dei Conti
