preflash backup software |

as i am having a white screen, id like to reflash my phone
was wondering is there any (free) software to backup all the data (well at least contacts) that can be restored to the phone post flash.
the built in software seems to synch with outlook, but i dont really trust it to transfer the data back to a phone post flash
