It better be good. Walkman 1.0 was pathetic and v2.0 was already beaten by Nokia's player. |

i guess the major improvement for this Walkman version is the ability to purchase songs / download them via a specific software (like itunes) / via carrier operator / or from dedicated Kiosks.
these assumptions are based on previous information:
1) as miles flint puts it, they are revamping their offering for US.
2) SE to introduce new kiosks for music application
3) a differential advantage over other competitors |

the N95 music player.
How so? IMO, they're very similar, not to mention the N95 is an extremely high end smartphone. phones with v2 are more than half the price of the N95.
And not to mention the W950 interface.
EDIT: And also, this has already been discussed in the main thread. Read up on the first post and it has already been written there.

exaclty, @qvga, your comparing a smartphone player to a standard w850i type player... try the w950i player and then come back and talk. besides, have u even used the n95 player?
the new version will be good.....
any way, this is about , not nokia....

actually the N95 music player is easily the equal to the w950 in all respects of accessibility and features, indeed it has an extra selection by composer (which is probably most useful if you are into classics) and I don't recall if W950 has selection by genre?
anyway, here is what I wrote in an N95 thread recently

well, as well as MP3 it supports WMA so I simply plugged my 2gb transflash that I was using on my TyTN straight into the N95 and it plays all my music
The standby screen has an entry which gives direct access to the player, or you can press and hold the right gallery button to get in there
Once in there you get a similar breakdown choice as the W950 (a bit more actually)
i.e. All Songs, playlists, artists, albums, genres, composers
in any of these you can mark tracks you want to play, add to playlist etc and it has a submeu for album art
of course there is also shuffle, repeat, equaliser, visualisation etc too
but best of all, its very loud through the stereo speakers
no complaints here with the music player

I have to agree that the music interface from the N73ME and N95 is pretty good (miles ahoud of that crappy interface the regular N-series had). I have to admit that I've never really used Walkman 2.0, only the W950 version, which is really great! So if 3.0 is based on that................ |
