Ok so I now have my blackberry pearl and I wanna set it up with my e-mail and I just can't figure out how to do it?

Can Blackberrys be used with Hotmail?
Same question with the P990i. Would I be able to access my Hotmail emails with a P990i?
Not by connecting to the net via the phone and checking all the time, but everytime I get a message the phone (Blackberry or P990) alerts me?

Dont have a Blackberrey reggy, just wondering.
I'll be using it on my P990i if its possible.
May get one of these Blackberry pearls though if its better.
