ok...i live in florida in the united states. i just went to my service provider and asked them if i can upgrade my phone to T68i software...the lady had no idea what i was talking about. she told me the only way i can upgrade is to buy the T68i. i said no i just want the software upgraded. she said that its not possible and to check with sony ericsson. can someone tell me why this lady who specializes in phones like my T68 had no idea what i was talking about. also can anyone link me to a site where i can find a place to upgrade phones in the US. i cant find this info in the search.

-thanks a lot

unfortunately, the person who you think is an idiot, and has no clue what you were talking about, has every right to not know anything. Apart from the rest of the world, The U.S. Is the only country (to my knowledge) that SE doesn't provide the T68m to T68i software upgrade. The only way to get it would be to buy the T68i. So, people who work there, wouldn't know anything about it, cuz it's not offered, and there-fore don't get trained to answer questions like that.

no, super unknown is right, pretty much in anything with wireless communication technology (ESPECIALLY mobile/cell phones) europe uses the top of the line everything while the US usually takes a year to get it, and it's usually not as good when it gets here. europe gets everything first and a lot better.

I live in UK, i have a canadian friend who said her phone calls are at same rate as her landline calls and that the prefix codes are the same. so it`s swings & roundabouts is`nt it. also her sim is not removeble, only last year she was freaked out by an 8210. Also the average time a person keeps a phone in UK is 8 months, i think in us & canada it`s a lot longer cos phones are supplied (like your home phone) by your provider(sometimes). So in europe the market is driven by the consumer more....i know people with 3 or 4 contracts on the go at any given time, also most people now carry 2 phones i`ve noticed. ...............Hey Donovan, my service center told me back in the summer that t68 & t68i was a "completely different phone & i software will never be available" 2 weeks later they were upgrading my phone, most of them are just low paid counter staff to be fair.

can someone answer the origional question. I think its pointless for us to debate if she should have known. Its clear that the user needs to know the procedures that need to be taken in order to upgrade the software. I also need to know. Can someone help us please?
