Hi,

hopefully someone can give me some advice on my little problem.

I've had my W800i for 1 year now, and its been working perfectly, however, recently after coming back from a beach trip, I have noticed several problems.

1.) lines across the screen
2.) the keypad numbers (1 2 and 3) do not work
3.) the upper left metal key (next to the walkman sign) does not work

It was working fine until it went through an airport x-ray scanning machine, but I think it might also be a sand problem (as I have just come back from holiday).

Have tried charging the battery, shaking the phone, taking out the sim card etc, but the keys still don't work (although the phone still calls and functions ok).

Please advise! Thank you for any help in advance.

Could be sand ingress, or possibly moisture damage - has the phone been wet at all?

phone has not been wet, and i don't think it is a humidity problem (it was quite dry where I went on holiday)

Looks the moisture has also creeped onto the circuitry... I'm afraid you'll have to send it for service...

get it to some repair shop fast, or else it'll deteriorate...

From taking my phone apart often I discovered that if screen is improperly align or press/squeezed down to hard, the screen will have lines it and the color will go all crazy. I say if you don't have any warrenty, take the phone apart and try trurning it on without the front face plate.

The liquid in the screen gets squeezed at some places and bloated at other... This causes the weird colour changes that you experience on tinkering with the phone...
