I recently looked through the latest cpw promotional magazine and noticed that a reliability rating for almost every phone was listed. I was surprised to see the T68i only got 3 out of 5 marks given that not many users of esato seem to suffer problems. I have had several erricsson phones and never had a single problem. Every Nokia I've had has gone wrong at some point! Is anybody aware of any common faults with them?

that's strange, you don't have prob with the T28? i bought a new one and it's dead the very same day after i turn it off. they swap me a new one the next day and the volume button dislocate the by the time i got home. again they swap a new one but i sell it off and bought a nokia.

@ Wiltonson...

I think you were a bit unlucky, my wife, sister and dad each had a T28 and none went wrong. Weve all got T68m / i's now and so far they have all been ok. (A bit brand loyal my family as you can see !!! )

i only have had bad luck with t28 and so were my friends and cousin. so i assume t28 is really fragile.

in the 1st week my t68i's earpiece died, had it replaced,no problems since,i'm not a heavy user of all the functions though(i DONT use as modem, bluetooth or the cam) so that may account for life expectancy. But wot do i know I WANT MY GPRS BACK

My T28 was excellent...never given up on me and I've had it for more than 2 years. I have a T68m and my wife has a T68i and neither of us have had any problems. Had some shit going on this summer but it turned out it was T-Mobile's fault. All my Ericsson phones have worked fine.

Most of my team at work have T68i's (6 handsets) and in the 4 weeks we've had them we've had 4 replacements, and another one on the way. Only 2 of us have got the handsets we started with.

Powering off, jamming up, calls not connecting, calls connecting but with no audio (that's confusing!), and bits falling off

I've had Moto's and (mostly) Nokia's in the past and NEVER had any problems with any of them... I mean NO problems AT ALL.

I still love my 68i, but I am nervous that it could pack up on me at any moment.

Ahh bugger!

I think I jinxed myself... waiting for another replacement as we speak. Voice Dialing has packed up now.

I have had nokia's and ericsson, both pack up equaly, i had the t28 and the mic in the flap broke, and 8210 and the screen scrambled, i think its just your luck, and yet i had a t68i which was perfect.

I'm on my second T68 and haven't had many problems with it. It's just one of them things: it'll either work perfectly or it'll all go horribly wrong.

Nokia or Ericsson, nobody is safe...

Is it just me or does buying phones sim free have better build quality? I've had several Nokia's before that have fallen apart from Cingular, and a T28 that broke it's little flipper.

However, I buy a simfree Nokia 8310 and my T68i and still haven't had any problems with it, other than some reception issues that I still can't compare either of them too, because both of them seem to go crappy at random times. I do prefer using my T68i though and with Float's SMS manager, my T68 has become even more fun to use now

are you sure they don't count software-upgrades as 'broken' phones?

My t68i hangs when o2 voicemail sends me a new mail notification sms. The phone will hang for 30 seconds or so and the second it frees up i get the new message notification. It ONLY ever happens with o2 voicmail notification sms's though so i guess somewhere allong the lines it's their fault!!!
