The bottomline is, the W810 is good, especially in bright light, but it won't replace my 7.1 MP digital camera

Comparison: Car stereo setup

Canon G6

W810

Comparison: Pascha (Easter) morning

Canon G6

W810

(All photos were taken without flash. All were resized in Adobe Photoshop to 800 pixels (longer side) x 600 pixels (shorter side) without any enhancement. Both in-car photos were taken with the device's Macro mode activated.)

I'm curious how the K550i and K790a would do in identical settings

When I've a bit of spare time I'm going to try a comparison between my K800i and my 3Mpix Fujifilm S3000 camera, see how they perform!

I reckon my W810 will probably take better pictures than my ancient Polaroid digi-cam even though it was a 3.2, it was terrible.

Unfortunately I don't have a digital camera to compare with, but I was very impressed with the results of this shot I took on the weekend with my V630i. Is this the same 2.0Mp unit as in the W810?

Canon SLR's are the best availiable with only Nikon cams as real competitors.

Phones area still a long way from catching up to digicams in quality - physically very difficult, so there's not much that can be done.

@hlcn - Nice comparison mate !

@arien - I agree that the BEST digicams around are of: Canon and Nikon brands . . .

@car - That's really an amazing-shot dude for a 2 MP camfone :eek Looks like twas taken from a 4-5 MP digicam . . .

@all - I know that the camera on phones are gettin' THERE and one day will be comparable to digicams (not the hi-ends though . . .) even with just those 3-5 MegaPixel ones . . . To be honest, I myself is at AWE sometimes when I am taking images taken from my K750 then . . . specially during night time when I am using the optional accessory - mxe 60 xenon flash. [addsig]

Its complete nonsense to compare camera's purely on the number of megapixels there are...and just shows how many people have been completely taken in by the hype

The sensor size, dynamic range of the sensor sites, lens quality all make much more important differences than MP.

The problem with mobile cameras is that they (like high street point 'n' shoots) are in this continual megapixel race ... just like intel and AMD were in processors.

I would MUCH prefer camera-phones had less mp and more of the other ... increase the size of the sensor, make the lenses bigger with better quality glass.
