It sounds like the rumors just may be true! Adding a 3.2 MP CyberShot camera, WiFi, and the latest Symbian UIQ operating system to the already gorgeous M600i make it my dream phone. Perhaps SE has been listening to me whine about the lack of a strong calendar function on my K790i and responded with this upcoming beauty.

SE M610i "Elena"

I can't begin to describe my feelings of lust at just the hint of this masterpiece. I think I actually have wood!

Fingers crossed on HSDPA. Makes sense to include it in this model as "Lilly", another rumored update to the M600i supposedly inbetween the original and "Elena" is thought to skip it.

@rambo47- I feel that all SE's smartphones should have HSDPA. The new z750 has it.

the white one is a proto m600i. the purple/maroon one is the 'm610i' (?)

these pics have been shown in shalirons rumour thread below this topic and they originated over at se-nse.net. a member named zopp postede them. no need to create a new thread for this i think...

IF this model also has wifi, then that's the end of the P series I think. Why bother with a big flippy P995 or whatever, when this little package already has the lot?

@Boinng- the p series has always been targeted at a certain market and it has established and to a degree destroyed it but it still very much is the flagship of SE's. Think slimmed down, sleek looking and technologically advanced p995. With the same old design I would still buy it. Look at nokia with the communicator series, the last one being 9500 and now e90. It's a company's trademark.

I agree that's how it's been in the past, but with UIQ3 now combining every feature (including one-handed basic phone operation) into "flip open mode", the old P series form factor seems outdated.

In UIQ2 there was an obvious and useful difference between flip up (smaller screen, basic phone functions, basic phone keypad) and flip down (much larger screen, more PDA functions but not such quick access to communicator functions) but in the P990 much of that has already been lost. The M600i already combines the keypads of both modes into one, and UIQ3 negates the need for a flip up "basic" mode.

Add in the missing features of camera and wifi, and I don't see what else a new P series phone would have to offer, apart from extra bulk and weight. Yes, it did used to be a trademark - but arguably the P990 has damaged the reputation built up by the earlier models, and it may not be a trademark SE want to maintain for much longer.
