The latest buzz (er.. rumour) is about some kind of explosions or what.. Which are triggered when you answer a call from some weird number. Your comments and opinions.

Yes viruses do spread thru phones....but currently only restricted to s60 devices. Examples being cabir, commwarrior and skull...
If ure talking about viruses being spread thru text messages or calls, thts obviously a hoax. simply not possible.

Actually the latest, i heard today, and read on many blogs, is some kind of a virus or what, which is harmful to you not to the phone.

Oh virus as in the type that cause diseases... shd have been mre specific then... any links or stuff...i wd like to check as well..

Go to some popular indian blogs or google it. (Some rumours suggest that bodily harm may be caused if you answer a call from that weird number ? ? A very strong Rumour.

Thats rubbish. The prob is i'm in office so am restricted on th type of websites i can access...will check once i'm outta here. But i'm sure its rubbish. 
If it was like infection bein caused by use of mobile phones as they are some of the most "germiest" things around, i would have bought the story.

Just spoke to a senior official of BSNL about it. He was saying that some persons had contacted him and told him that they experienced a strange feeling or sensation when they answered a phone call from a number like 000 or something like that. He even went to say that a person, on answering the phone, immediately became unconscious and was rushed to the hospital. He was at his wits ends.
Couldn't negate it throughout. I mean that he couldn't for sure, say that it was a rumour. He told that similar news had come from punjab, up east etc. Meaning confined to north india. .. ..

Maybe, technically perhaps, one could transmit a signal through a phone call at the resonant frequency of the cellphone battery etc. ..... BOOM
