I've had a similar problem, but at the other end that you hold when putting it in and out of the phone

I ended up putting a little bit of selotape over it and that fixed it for good, but I guess you can't do that on the end you have the problem with

that's is some tricky damage
sandisk does have 5yrs warranty
however this caused due user, not sandisk
so it will be hard to claim it.

try to backup your data 1st if possible
you could try some tape, if that doesn't work
try to melt some plastic material to glue the hole back together

how can i be at your service?

ive had to put a tiny amount of superglue on one of mine to stop it cracking/breaking....

BUT at the end of the day its a REMOVABLE MEDIA which is designed to be taken out of the device and into a card reader or other devices on a regular basis so i believe its a design fault and should be covered by warranty.

afaik. putting MSD adaptor before the MSPD in the card reader could avoid this cracky thing. my cousin use the MSD adapter all the time and she had no scratch on her 2gb mspd so far. mine is without the msd adapter and there's lot of crack appearing.

Just as a matter of interest how many of the ones cracking were bought on Ebay or a similar "cheap" place.

not at all, my laptop has a dedicated ms duo/sd card reader built in, still without recommendation to say to use a duo to full size adaptor, this is a design fault. [addsig]

i haven't used my mspd with the adaptor on my cardreader. i just plug it directly. i should try with the adaptor to avoid damaging.
