I hope so too! Java helps a lot! Imagine you need a sci calculator for a exam, you want a trivial pursuit game, you look for language translator,...
Just download the java code into your T68!
Can you hear me, Ericsson guys?

I believe too its the right way,..and a very good feature.
Different companies could specialize their phones with specific programs.
I think we will see this much more on future phones,..more of these specialized models like 7650 and others. The mix of phone/pda/camera/mp3 and so on.

Java on phones, just imagine all the creative possibilities. Being able to swap your own programs with friends.
I would absolutely love to see this implemented in a future firmware release.
The boundary between phones and computers will become blurred, which I believe will be a good thing.

No Stoffe, I dont think we'll see Java in the T-68,..but we will see it in nearby future products.
Arroyte: Java is code (programs). You could then have specific programs in the phone.
You could download the code (program)into the phone, and personalize it

I agree with jh67. I dont think we'll see Java in the T-68 unfortunately.
T68 has a java-capable hardware (in terms of memory, processor,...) but sure requires also a java-oriented design from scratch. If not, the software upgrade is much more complicated. Too much.

The Nokia 7650 has a Symbian operating system that I *think* is Java based.
Can someone confirm this ?
Does this mean it's Java enabled ?
