In the official site:
"The mophun(tm) Run Time Engine (RTE) is fast and easy to integrate into most mobile devices, including low-, mid- and high-end mobile phones. For more information and a further discussion, please contact Synergenix by clicking on the link above."

Question:
Is possible integrate the The mophun(tm) Run Time Engine (RTE) on Sonyericsson T68..?

Sure, it's possible. Actually SE developed the T300 software with the help of T68 with prototype software.

But I think it would be unwise for SE to release that for the T68, because they need to make money. It would be better if they released a new high-end phone with mophun.

Or maybe charge current T68 users for a mophun upgrade.

I send the question at energix and the reply is:
"If you are an end user with a T68, mophun can not be put onto the T68. (In other words, you cannot put mophun onto a T68 that has already been sold to the end user)..."

> yeah it would be easy...

Mofun should be added to the T68. The new higher end phones that come out soon should have real java not mofun. Mofun is a cheap way to get some games on a phone. The real java is what SHOULD be on a pricey high end phone.

Don't really agree that "Mofun is a cheap way to get some games on a phone", actually it's the other way around. since mophun is c/c++ based you can get better performanse although as a lower-level language it's not that portable as e.g. java so every program must be rewritten to work with different hardware

Mophun games are independent of the hardware, as Java is. That's the way it is designed, it uses a kind of "neutral" bytecode which is interpreted in a virtual machine (the Mophun Runtime Engine)...

MOPHUN like IN-FUSIO games for Mobile Phones are optimised to use the phone's features (vibrate etc.) and hardware (screen and keyboard etc.) more easily through their own propriatory API's rather than Java J2ME which as an Open standard for a number of various devices is not as device specific.

That's why most of the vendors add their own API's to their terminal.

I emailed synergenix this morning, hers the reply...

"I don't think there are any such plans from Sony Ericsson.
You will have to contact them directly, since what we
do, is a game engine, i.e. mophun. It would be possible to have mophun
in a T68, in fact our first implementation tests where done in such a phone,
so yes,
it is possible, allthough it is up to S-E if they want to release such
upgrade.

Talk to them

Cheers,

Mitri"

SO WE NEED TO BOMBARD SE DIRECTLY thru there website TO RELEASE THIS SOFTWARE NOW!!!!

... sign this petition also cos after much research the T68i can run the mophun engine but sony won't licence it unless we sign this petition and hassle them...

http://www.petitiononline.com/8520/petition.html or goto http://www.petitiononline.com and search for T68i

Just face it, t68 will never have mofun or java, there simply isn't room. Unless you want to lose loads of features and memory space. It's a phone, if you want games them buy a gameboy
