Hi,

I have a p990i, Its about a week old, and was unlocked / debranded / generic, so no network crap installed, so i have ruled that out for this problem.

Basically a friend of mine sends me regular pictures, and on my p910i and p900i they arrive and are about 46kb and good quality images that i can view full screen, but on my p990i they are resized down to the size of a postage stamp, they have sent me the same picture to my p900 and p990 and its DEFINATELY the p990 thats shrinking them.

At first i thought they was just resized to fit the screen but then i saved them, to view with the picture viewer and they are like 40-60kb on the 900 and 4-5kb on the 990.

Has anyone had this problem ? or know how to change the settings to stop it doing this ?

oh I am on o2 prepay if that matters

I kept meaning to post a thread asking about this.

I also have a P990i with exactly the same issue. P990 definitely shrinking the pics to a ridiculous 4kb sometimes! Totally useless.

In MMS settings - definitely set to "No Restrictions"

Accused my Wife of having the wrong settings on her phone when she sent the pics and then realised it was my P990 doing the damage!

Would love to know what it's doing.

I have the same problem. I even started a thread about it awhile ago. Seems like it is just some issue with the P990. Hopefully it will be fixed in a firmware update soon.

My last MMS picture I received on my P990 was ok?? 36.7Kb same as original sent. P990 is WWE1 Generic and unbranded, latest firmware.

The P990 does give a preview picture though, don't you have to be FO mode to download and save the image - when it saves it then downloads the full file and you can save it to the picture folder - else you keep the preview only in "Messaging"

Make sure "Auto Download" is set to "On" NOT "Home Only", and obviously "Download Size" to "No restrictions" as stated already.

I am on T-Mobile UK contract though if that makes a difference? Just in case it's a network bandwidth throttle!

Also in advanced settings you can set "Fullscreen" to get something a little bigger than stamp size!

Auto Download is On, Download Size is No Restrictions, and Advanced Settings to Full Screen.

What version of the firmware do you have ?

I was going to update my firmware, but the SEUS says its not needed as i have the latest firmware installed already.

Debating on doing a firmware flash, incase something went wrong in the firstplace.

I have the latest firmware and my P990 is unbranded, unlocked, Generic World 1. I am on T-Mobile USA and I have tried every option (No restrictions, Auto-download, etc.), but the incoming MMS is still always tiny (~5kb). It's really frustrating because none of my other phones do this on the same network! SE needs to fix this. If anyone figures out a solution, please let everyone know. Thanks.

My CDA is world generic 2 R4B03
Organizer R4B03, MMS settings identical to everyone else's and I have no problem receiving MMS pics, they range from 30-60kb, 640x480 resolution therefore I do not think the P990 is built for a lesser viewing experience (unless you choose so of course)
