Ok, here's what I have:

T68m upgraded to T68i (R5D007)
MSI Bluetooth transceiver key
WinXP SR-1

I was using the Comms Suite properly, until something caused the synchronization to fail. After that incident, the Phonebook and Message Manager would fail to read my phonebook (but SIM is OK). I tried to uninstall the whole comms suite (like someone suggested), but somehow, Installshield hangs after completion (says deleting temp files, then hangs). I can't seem to uninstall the software no matter what I do. Reinstalling/uninstalling doesn't help either.

Funny thing is, Mobile Phone Monitor sees my phone. Sendfile doesn't work, and neither does any of the Ericsson software. Without any way to uninstall it, I can't get the bloody thing to work again!

Can anyone help me out??

UPDATE
======

Now I can get MPM to detect the phone. Sendfile works too. However, all the Ericsson software cannot work. Phone Book & Text Message Manager says Runtime error: 429 and Phone Settings say that there's a severe problem with the installation. Again, I can't properly uninstall or reinstall. I've even deleted the whole Ericsson registry key and the files in the Program Files folder in my attempt to wipe the installation. Still doesn't work!

Kengsim,

What do you mean "no way to uninstall it?" Go to Start/Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs. Look for Ericsson Communications Suite and XTNDConnect PC, two separate entries. Then reboot.

What I meant was, the uninstallation would proceed, then hang right after it says "cleaning up temp files" or something like that. Installshield would become unresponsive, even after being left alone for 2 hours. If I close it down with Task Manager, all the files in Program Files are still intact and the registry keys are all still there. Threrefore there is "no way to uninstall" the comms suite software. UNless I can do a manual removal of every single file the software copies to my hard disk and also the registry settings.

I'm also having troubles with the same configuration you have. I manage to install the MSI software, but after installing the Communications suite the Phone Monitor can't find my phone.

I can sync my adressbook just fine by using the MSI-software, but I can't send files or sync anything other.

Any ideas?

Until now, I've not been able to find a solution to this. I've given up trying to use the Ericsson software suite.

I got a Sony Vaio Laptop VX-71 and i got the Sony USB Bluetooth Dongle for it, i got PBTM to work with the T68i all fine

I think u need to get the PBTM from the T65's max functional set, its about 18MB.

So un-install everything. manually uninstall if u have to.

Set up your Bluetooth and make it connect via virtual COM port, mines connecting via COM4.

Then load the 18MB file PBTM and install

That should work , i hope.

My Laptop has WIn xp pro sp-1 installed etc etc

Hi guys, just wondering, if you're using XP or Win2K are you sure you're logged in with administrator priveleges? I had a ME45 and it wouldn't sync under a plain user account.

I just got a P800 and I can't get it to maintain a connection over USB, but serial works fine. I'm pretty sure the problem is with the USB port on my laptop though because it's always been temperamental.

Sendfile will NOT work with MPM and XTND connect running... that's why I'm so glad they got rid of XTND... that was an annoying piece of software.
Sendfile runs on it's own, and can run over Bluetooth.

oh, sendfile works fine. it's only the Phonebook & Text Message manager that doesn't work. Actually, the problem is that installshield hangs, whether i'm installing or uninstalling.

I had the same problem ( I interrupt a synchronization and after that the phone book fail repeteadly to synchronize. It would say that the phone book could not be read . The SIM was ok but not the phone book).
Just take the battery out for a few sec from the phone . It worked for me
