Has anyone else tried to use a Image for the More list? I set it to the required Pixel size, but on the phone it has a white gap in the list like i made it too small? is there some kind of bug? thanks

have you tested the theme on the phone? |

yes, in the preview screen in theme creator it shows ok, but on the phone is when you see the gap. I tried setting the "background color" for the more list to a similar color and it made it much less noticeable, but never the less.
could it be due to the use of a .png file? Using Photoshop, i set all my images to PNG-24 to handle transparencies, and have been saving everything that way out of habit...
Edit: I tried this, no change, however my theme size went from 304kb to 75kb! Definitely good! oh well, i may just have to publish it as it is...

Is your phone branded by operator?
This question because I have some problems too in the interpretation of activity menu with my branded phones, but it works fine with unbranded ones.

no, it is unbranded, unlocked...
It's almost like just some menus are slightly larger than they should be, in smaller menus it does not get the line. it happens in menus with 6 options like if your highli9ghted on a picture, and hit more. i was just wondering if it was a common problem, but i don't know how many people are running background images in these pop-up menus, and more lists...

I tried updating to the latest version of theme maker, i had 3.07, now 3.10... nothing changed, then i read the theme creator manual, and it said the px were supposed to be 212X192, the program is saying 212X193. I tried both ways with no results. then i tried making it 212X212, and the more list just resizes it and brings the side in, so you have the gap on the left side, and the top. in the manual it says the k800 positions this image bottom, right.
so i'm thinking the image isn't going to fill the upper gap no matter what i do. maybe the new firmware will fix this, or maybe my already new firmware screwed it up from previous versions...
thanks for the help... if anyone knows how to fix, still love to hear!

I've found in the past that the size may be right but the location of the
image is not, e.g. your image isn't the full 212x193 and has transparency
around it. If I moved the image around I could get it to cover the white
portion.
I only ever saw this in theme creator's previews though, never on the
phone itself.
Mine's running R1JC002 and unbranded.

it's definitely the full size. i wonder though if it is supposed to be 193x212, and I have it backwards, and for some reason SE screwed up and wrote it backwards... |

the problem and i (we) can take a look at it on some
other phones/firmwares ??

There it is, It's based on Windows Mobile. While your testing it for the "More list" Background problem, let me know what you think of the theme itself
Thank YOU!!

just downloaded .... I'll let you know if I find owt
-------------------------------------------------
Well having played for a while I can't find anything wrong
when it's on the phone. Theme creator (attached image)
shows it as it is on my phone. More list image justified at
bottom right. The remainder of the k800's display is taken
up with the previous image(s).
From theme creator ....
The phone ....
As far as I can see from my phone and theme creator there's
not a problem with your theme at all !
BTW - nice theme, very simple and functional - works well
in bright sunlight (unlike some I've tried !!) Gues what's
my current theme

well, i wonder if it is just a FW problem. Mind you I made it so the small gap i see is actually a shade of blue i picked from the image so it blends pretty good. I can't get your image to expand, i clicked on it, but nothing. Well, I'm sort of glad its just my phone in the sense that when people download it they wont think i'm some kind of hack, lol.
thank you very much for your assistance.
I think my next theme I'm going to play with animations, and things, go a bit more radical. i'm glad you picked up on my attempt to make this very subtle, and functional with a bit of style.

@thetmaxx - which colour did you change/match to hide the gap ?
morelist background, highlight background or scrollbar background ... I'm
curious now
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Ignore the above .... just been playing with another theme I use and
set the morelist bg to red (the theme is predominately grey) and you're
right ... just at the top of the morelist.png there appears a red band !
Looking at it with a magnifying lens shows it to be 2 or 3 pixels deep.
So it's not you or your phone !!
Not sure how to fix this though .... maybe it's theme creator that's at
fault. I haven't tried with MTC yet.

Yes, this 'bug' has been there since K800i first release. Nothing we can do, just pick up Morelist background color very very similar to the color of your Morelist image. Our very eyes are the keys here! |
