Which phone manufacturer has the best reception in general, considering their current line of phones?
NOKIA, MOTOROLA, OR SAMSUNG?

At my END it's - Nokia . . . OLD Motorola fones were experiencin' signal-problems then . . .

@boba - Whatdayamean by: its up to the operatos too  You mean they can MANUALLY calibrate their cell-site-transmitters favoring GOOD/better signals to . . . say: Samsung than those of Nokia and  let's say?

I'm guessing by the way you say Cell Service you are in the States whilst i am in the UK and also a T-Mobile customers.
On my Nokia N93 because i have the option i have selected UMTS (3G) only and have full bars of signal strength virtually every where i go. Whilst in the same area when i had a M600 it struggled to hold more than a couple of bars. Have never used a Samsung phone but when i had a Motorola V3 on Virgin which is a virtual Network that uses the T-Mobile Network that also had good signal reception nearly all the time also. But you location and your Networks cell sites in that area will always be the deciding factor so really i think there are to many variables for a definitive answer one way or the other IMO. Maybe not the answer you wanted but the only one that makes sense I'm afraid.

I have noticed that I am not getting good reception on Motorola phones so it comes down to either Nokia or Samsung. The reason I'm doing this is because I'm getting an extra phone to use as a home phone and T-Mobile currently have some Nokia and Samsung phones for free.

This phone is not gonna be used much so I don't want to spend money on it. Otherwise I would def get a SE.

Samsungs have the weakest reception of the major brands.
With my Motorola's I've always had a good signal, but I live in the Netherlands, a small country with an excellent network coverage.

I have tried during several years many types of cellphones. In my homeland the Nokia penetration was nearly 90% and nowadays maybe 70%. On average the most problematic reception (two way) is in Nokia-phones, then comes some cheap models of Motorola and Samsung. But the most models of Motorola and Samsung are quite good.
Nokia phones are quite horrible in cars, trains, ships and even in Stockholm, Sweden.
In the same place and with the same operator the Nokia 6310i and several newer types didn´t work at all ie. lost the operator, but a small Samsung clamcell, SE K800i, T39i, Z1010, T300 and K700i worked normally. |
