I recently upgraded the software on my then-O2 UK-branded K800i to R1JC002 using WotanServer.com, then out of curiosity used SEUS to see what it would say. SEUS says that an update for my phone is available (it says "K800i EUROPE 2", if that means anything) but a few forum threads I have found on the Internet say that this is not yet available on SEUS. If this is the case, what software is available on SEUS? |

Hm, if you don't mind losing 7 EURO, then click Continue option on SEUS. Your phone will be back to R1GB001.. |

I think SEUS always consider firmware that it has in its server to be the latest. And if your firmware is not the same then it will say that newer firmware is available (nevertheless that you have newer firmware from wotan) |

That's not too good... Where does WotanServer.com get the phone software from? And would the software SEUS wants to put on my phone re-brand it? |

From Sony Ericsson off course.
OK, here is what I think MAY happen (need to say this as some ppl would tell me I spread lies if I don't). I used to be in software developer class almost a decade ago.
I think SE always created new firmware as long as they feel it is needed. The R1GB has video preview bug which is quite a major bug so SE fix it. As soon as they have good enough firmware that satisfied their developer and tester within SE, then it may be installed by authorised service centre to customers that complain about video preview bug. At this point I think they deem this is worthy to be sold to selectable customers (wotan, etc).
When they convince that new firmware is quite stable (no one using it reported major bug) then they will release it to SEUS.

This I don't know. If SEUS only see CDA only when updating then it will preserve your debranded firmware. If it also see IMEI it may re-brand it. I want to find out about this myself but wotan/kulan said that it will stay on your de-brand CDA. |
