carphone warhouse have now had my t68 a few days, this morning i had a phone call to say it was ready to be picked up but they have been unable to fix it and nor can they replace it as the damage was due to water,, water i say like f**k it has not been in contact with water the cheeky t**ts so when i go in to actually collect it im gonna play hell, the damn fone is only 8 weeks old and after buying it sim free for £280 i think there is more then nothing they can do....
my advice if you buy from cph then let them rip u off and take up the insurence for £24 per quarter |

With water they can also mean moist or damp... When you have the T68 in your pocket, damp can (sometimes) be found on the phone. Or when your visiting places with fluctuating temperatures, your phone can also be damped (just like pair of glasses). That damp can create some corrosion...

that's why they offer insurance mate. accidents happen.
however, you may be able to take it to a smaller dealer who will clean it up for you and it may work again (notice the use of the word may). they'll not be able to warranty it for you but you may not have thrown £280 down the drain. |

@Darhys..
Yeh - I would be suspicious too. Makes you wonder how the phone was stored prior to your purchase - or since it's gone in for repair.
Smell it....does it smell of coffee?!

I understand your very angry as I would be. But when unfortunetly this happens and water damage as said before can be caused by many other other things apart from dropping it in a bucket of water. Have you ever used when it was raining? Sometimes people drop their phone down the toilet and when they dry it out it's perfectly fine - sometimes it's completely buggered. Look at the repair centres side of things-they want to fix your phone so they can claim that back from SE so they can make a few quid. They don't want your phone to be liquid damaged as that costs them money in labour to open up the phone and have a look at it .
If you want a 2nd opinion send it off to SE to have a look direct but normally manufacturers repair centres are normally more stringent than 3rd party ones! |

£24/mth insurance and £29.95 if you need to have the phone replaced.
Carphone Warehouse are shite. They are only any use when you go in to buy a phone with a contract when they would even let their partner give you oral just to seal the deal.
Absolutely zero after care customer service capabilities by the muppets they employ.

'The Link' do quite a good deal, £11 for ten months and then the phone is covered for 4 years, this includes accidental damage aswell as it being stolen, not too bad eh? though it may only be for contract phones. |

I have never taken insurance on any mobile of mine over the past 6 years. I have probably saved well over £350 so if I ever do have a problem, I guess I cannot complain.
The thing is with any insurance, there is an element of profit which means that on the whole, you and I are worse off!

been a customer of CPH for a long time now, had phone repaired outside warranty with no probs. I fiound with them if you are nice they are nice back.
recently bought my t300 for £29.99 (on Voda 20 - £12.9 per month) and quoted vodphone retails offer so I got a MCA-25 for free!!!! (worth £149.99)
If you ring up their customer service people, not the service guys and state that you are the buyer for your company and you are disspointed etc etc you will find that they can't do enoug for you!!!! |
