Hello all, is it me or does viewing pictures taken on my MCA-20 look really crappy or what? Is there anything I can do to make it look better or is it just a 100.00 piece of junk? Any help would be appreciated!

SO they look fine from the PC, but how do they look on your phone? how do you download it to your PC? do you have to buy that data cable?

you can't send pictures via data cable. you can only e-mail them and send them via ir and bt...

e-mail takes forever on GSM though...

When you transfer the pics to a PC you will see the difference. I found this MCA-20 pic posted here on Esato. If you use the Search button you'll find loads more like it.

E-mail will work fine, but it's expensive and takes time.

I use one of these, which is fantastic.

So then if my phone only has 256 colors, why is it that every ad I see, pictures look fantastic, when it shows pics taken from the MCA 20?

I also think the mca20 is a waste of money - wasted on a phone with only 256 colours-works well in sun but no sun in uk!!!

The best way to look at any of the Communicams is as a fun thing to have! It's not great, but it's not rubbish either. It's good for keeping in your pocket for spur of the moment shots. It's even better for taking on holiday so that you can take pics on the beach and immediately E-mail them to your mates back at the office, which is much cooler than sending a postcard! If you want crystal clear, perfect images, buy yourself a dedicated digicam, if you want to muck about with a camera that plugs into your phone (think about it), buy a Communicam. If you can get it cheap, then even better. I only paid £49.99 for mine because Orange gave me a £70 off voucher for a MCA-20 with the phone! Last time I looked, Carphone Warehouse were doing them for £79.99.

Come on guys, let's be realistic and reasonable here, OK?

the MCA-20 is an awesome idea for any cell phone. the quality of the pics ARE NOT bad at all, they're quite impressive considering how small the phone/camera is. I'm a senior in high school, and the communicam is more than perfect, cause there's always the most random shit going on (fights, teacher/student sexual harassment, kids smoking crack, etc.) considering it's size, light weight, and relatively cheap price (if bought from a wholesaler) it's the best bet for your money. on the phone, the images look like crap (considering it's a 256 color display with 101x80 screen resolution) but once transfered onto the pc, the pictures look like all the ones listed above: pretty damn good.
