How do I unlock T68M from Attws to use on T-Mobile |

I just purchased a T68M from a guy that was used on ATTWS. So I will assume it is locked. I have not tried my T-mobile Sim in it yet but aren't all the ATTWS phones locked?
What is the easiest way to unlock the phone and also how do I upgrade it to T68i?

Because I already have a phone with T-mobile and I dont want to switch carriers. |
