I've had a K800i, it was reliable but since I've installed the "torch feature" (using the red LED as a light). From there on the camera shutter button has not worked.
I then used the SE software update service (SEUS) via my PC, this unstabalised my phone even further so the phone eventually shut down and wouldn't restart.
My advice is don't try and get extra features/debrand/PC Update ur K800i unless ur willing to have a pocket full of problems... | |

This is why I tend not to mess about with the firmware on phones, try to leave it as 'stock' as possible, these kinds of if you like 'unauthorised' mods do tend to make a phone more unstable.
Though having said that I'm currently using a W800i that used to be a D750i, that has a couple of software mods like pressing the camera button in standby mode turns the flash/torch on and off, which apart from one crash has been reliable!

You may need full flashing. SE service centre will do that and if you are willing to pay wotan, kulan, DVT, can do it in less than half an hour from your home (broadband recommended).
BTW, isn't you got a dead K800? Did you able to revive it? |

It's kinda very dead, I immersed it in a bucket of water the other day. I dried it out over the PC monitor and stuck the battery back in. I thought it may short the internal battery. (It didn't)
The phone still has the red LED in the IR port and it seems the same as usual. I'm buying a new K800i next Thursday so I'll not play with the firmware on that one. |

I agree, try a master reset, or the SEUS restore service.
