Theme creators is not WYSIWYG tool? |

Hi all, I create a theme for my K800 but when I install it on my K800 it does not appear like when I preview it in my computer.
Here is one example. Notice that it has a white rectangle inside the semi-transparent white where you input the SMS text? It does not shown in my k800 while it is shown on the theme creator preview.
Also here is another bug (preview when you change the ring tone volume). The solid white rectangle is not alligned properly. And also it does not show off in my k800 (the solid white one).
Anyone has similar experiences?
Edit: also how do ppl take a snapshot of LCD on the phone? I want to show the difference in k800 and theme creator preview. I tried using simple pocket digicam and the result is not good. I am reluctant to use my dSLR just to take this picture. Any Java MIDP apps that do printscreen on the mobile device?

That's normal, my friend...I've been using Theme Creator for years and I do believe that what it shows on Theme Creator sometimes doesn't confirm to what is displayed on the phone. The best thing is, always check how the theme is displayed on the phone and learn how it works. The best source is always the phone itself...you will also see that if you don't put any image on Row Title section, the Theme Creator will display blank/ dark image, but not on the phone....many other 'weirdness'... |

Well, I think SE has to put more effort in designing a WYSIWYG theme creator. I understand that this is a mere hobby for SE user but getting a top notch theme creator will not do harm. I don't see this as difficult task fo company of SE level.
No wonder Sony CEO say that Sony has master device and content. It is just the implementation (software) that needed a boost. |

Mmmm, I too don't understand why SE can't provide a better, more professional theme creator. I used a linux theme creator (by Matthias Wetzka) for my old K700i. which is much easier to use. It also has a built-in colour picker, a very convenient tool. Too bad I can't use it for my K800i. Nowadays I only use SE's theme creator for saving the final version of my themes, just to be sure they're fully compatible. The real creating and editing I do manually with the GIMP and a text file editor for the XML-file. In general, I think SE's theme creator is a very disappointing tool. Especially compared to the great phones they make. |
