Here’s a first look at Toshiba’s G900 Smartphone, which features a 3-inch WVGA touchscreen display, HSDPA, Bluetooth, 64MB of internal memory, a miniSD card slot, and USB connectivity. Pricing and availability have not yet been announced.

from the specs listed I am a bit puzzled what makes this a TyTN killer?

is there more about this that was not mentioned?

Hi Masseur,
It looks just like a TyTN to me but maybe the .2" extra will make all the difference. But to be honest after the announcement of the E90 any manufacturer going after the business market is going to really start producing some serious kit as Nokia with E90 have certainly raised the bar as far as i am concerned with some real killer specs least of all the 128mb Ram with 80MB free for the user and of course that large killer screen and full qwerty.

...but its described as a TyTN killer whereas it seems pretty much an equal

killer suggests something fantastic over and above its competitor so I was really just asking what I was missing

but I won't buy another WM5 phone now anyway... waiting for WM6!

The Toshiba has a 800x480 resolution, a biometric scanner and runs Windows Mobile 6. That's why it's a TyTn killer

right! now you're talking.

mind you it took ages for apps to support VGA when I first got the iPAQ 4700 and other than those than did support that res, everything just looked bigger than usual. So I wonder how long it will be before that WVGA gets used to its potential.

the iPAQ 5450 I had, had a finger print scanner but it was rubbish. my wife and kids could use it and it would recognise theirs as mine! Mind you, thats come a long way now as my new vaio has a finger prnit scanner built in and it hasn't failed yet

Hi all,

Well as great as this device looks on paper from reading about it over @ the Expansys Forum this device seems to be full of some fairly serious problems and it looks like Toshiba seriously dropped the ball on this one. I was really considering this device as a WM6 device to see what it was like now i am just really glad i have given up buying any devices for the time being. As there appears to be some very disappointed and unhappy users that bought this device.
