Hi There,

Ive just got an new K800i on contract with Orange last week. Absolutely loving it however one MAJOR bugbare is that the SMS input is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow!

Im new to SE, having been a Nokia Girl all my days. Im very happy with the handset but this problem is driving me crazy. My last handset was an N70 and I could text at the speed of lightening without looking at the fone however Im noticing that if I dont look at the screen I will end up writing gobbledeegook.
Dont even start me on that T9 crap, as I hate it and will never use it.

Is this a bug that the input for multitap is so slow? Is it just my handset or has anyone else noticed this? And if so - are there any downloads etc to fix it?!

Thanks!

Try updating the phone's firmware, could possibly be a bug, though I think SEs are slightly slower with regards to texting than nokias, but not a huge amount slower.

Updating the Firmware -

Right...

And how would I do that?! lol. Is it a big job? Can I banjaxx the fone if I do it wrong? Do I loose pics and contacts and stuff?

Bearin in mind the fone is less than a week old, would the Firmwire need updatin?

Thanks

I have a K800i that i use for my main phone and a Nokia 6233 on T Mobile for web use but i have started just lately to use my Nokia for main phone due to it has fast texting and faster menus and its more reliable. My SE is very slow and thats a problem thats been with them since the early Ericsson days with their phones having a slow chip. I hate it. My Nokia is better as a phone i would say. The SE is just all camera i think. I might sell it soon. Oh yeah and mine is sim free and has new firmware.

it sounds weird. K800 should have a faster processor than older phones(i mean my k750 and below). i find my writing input fast enough for me.
