K800i Dead Camera |

Hi,
I have a weird problem with my K800i - it has stopped taking pictures. I can get into the camera and just get a black screen. The external cover sensor seems to be working, as I can take pictures and everything, it's just they come out black (or with a strange pattern with brightness turned up).
Any idea if this is a simple reset issue, or is it a dead CMOS sensor, which is what it looks like to me?
Cheers,

I'd try a reset, if that doesnt work try a firmware flash, if that does'nt work i'd contact Sony Ericsson about sending it to a service centre for an under warranty claim. |

Ah, I've tried both of those. Sadly it's still not working... I think I'll have to rebrand it first |

Solved it!
I pressed either side of the lense pretty hard, in test mode, first i got green back. Then I did it again, and it works fine. Sorted for the mean time.
Probably the cam module had come loose with the change in the weather.

Well, maybe that wasn't such a good idea after all. It's done it again now (nearly a year later), pushing it won't fix it, and now the handset is out of warranty.
I'm lucky that Littlewoods have Voda PAYG ones for £40 at the moment, really! |
