K200i is very nice looking low-end camera phone. Cheaper than K310i, so really cheap and I think it looks much better than K310i.

looks like they've adopted motorola softkey, power and call/hangup keys, and Nokia menu and battery indicator.
I've goota say, the phones are cool looking and it's about time the low end phones had a bit of style (previous J's and low end K's are boring looking). BUT, did they HAVE to copy Nokia and Motorola?? I mean, why? The SE interface is one of it's advantages and now they are changing it. I hiope this doesn't trickle up to the mid to high end. Don't like it at all.

Nobody seems to be noticing but the pics do not show a battery indicator, look at each pic again and you'll see only one bar lit in green and its position is different according to where you are in the menu. It tells where you are in the menu, so you know whether scrolling up or down is quicker.

- they all look very good, stylish, more expensive than they probably are (reminds me of the T230 position);
- so many people want a phone without nifty tricks, now they'll have a nice SE, they will become loyal SE-customers and end up with a k810 or whatever one day in the future;
- "nokia-style" menu is probably to lure in Nokia users?
- looks more like LG than the oter mentioned brands;
- I'm sure they'll sell very well
(but... how do you get the pictures out of those?) |

Yes they are stylish I agree with that. About the new menu, what use attracting Nokia buys if you lose your own loyal customers? Why change the menu and back and cancel keys at this late stage of the game?
And it may look like LG in style, but the menu is nokia and the key layout is Motorola, and really I see no need for SE to go copying other OEM's. They have their own style, menu and gui which SE users prefer over Nokia. So why go changing?
MY only hope this is only for the low end. If they dirty the mid to high end with this Nokia and Motorola copying I won't be happy I can tell you. I've stuck with SE primarily for the ergonomics and menu system of their phones. If I wanted a Nokia clone I'd just buy a Nokia...

indeed. SE only makes 40% of their phones in their own factories.
rest is done mostly by flextronics and arima(also worked for nokia, motorola, siemens and LG).

those are pretty phones... very simple and casual...
all it needs now is a good AD to really take a bite out of that NOKIA percentage.
