Hi,
I can't get anything but 'pending' for my sent text messages when I check 'view status', even if they have been delivered...anyone else getting that problem? is there a way like on the nokias when it will tell you if it gets delivered, with a beep and a message saying the text message has been delivered? It was a great feature of the Nokias...uis there an upgrde to fix this problem?
Cheers

Isn't this network related? Doesn't the network have to support the function? |

I was thinking that maybe it's mobile unit dependent, like it would only update when the recipient also has an :se: phone. I chose to activate it before but the case pointed out by the first poster would come up. Not much use so I turned the feature off. Does the pending status message also show for sms sent to :se: phones even when they have already been received? I am as confused about this feature as you guys. I mean, why go through the hassle of putting up a phone-feature we all cant use.

I thought it was network dependent, i.e. I'm on O2 in the UK so it won't work

Yea, it has to be supported by your network.
I'm on Comviq/Sweden, it worked with 7110 and works with 7650, but not with T68...

The delivery reports are network dependant.
I think they follow a general code that is sent out by the phone with the SMS which the phone transmits first when sending with the message, although some network providers like O2 have different codes which are not the one the phone uses, so therefore no reports.
In the UK if u want a delivery report type the below at the beginning of your SMS:
O2 - *0#
Orange - RCT
T-Mobile - *MD# (I think) Delivery Reports using the phone function should work anyway.
Vodaphone - Cant remember!
*So for example u write a message on Orange:
Menu > Messages > SMS > Write New
RCTHey how are you......etc
You dont need to put a space between the code + ur message.
If you ring up the customer services on your network and ask them what is the code for delivery reports they should tell u.
Hope this helps! |

I had using Nokia 6210 & T68mms with same operator.
6210 get delivery report and can save it, T68mms just show a note message 3 sec. then disappeared.
so I think this is T68 phone problem.

Its network dependant. To check, all Gsm networks will support the following: type 111 at the begining of ur text message, no spaces. When the person gets it 2 their phone you get a text saying it was received with time date and errors if any. Works on Fido in Canada.
