Hacking a new FM Antenna for w810i, etc |

Okay, I have seen this done before (though, i cannot find the tutorial page now)
I'm looking to create an FM antenna for my w810i without using my headphones.
Really, I just want to know which pins in the connector I need to work with. if i remember correctly, I'll just need two pins to get the antenna working along with a short piece of wire.
Any thoughts? Does anyone know the link to that tutorial i mentioned? |

I'm not sure that hack will work on the w810i...because the capability of radio is directly linked to the presence of the headset.
Soooo...with some messing around, i figured some stuff out.
It seems the 4th and 5th pin from the RIGHT are the pins you need to connect to trick the phone into thinking theres a headset attached.

You can probably achieve this by messing around with a wire or something. I managed to do it with a 'sony adapter' for a car charger that i bought at a dollar store. But beware, i got errors on my phone ("Charging error. Stop Charging!") when trying to use the actual charger part..... i think there was a voltage problem or something...or messed up pins. it was made by 'wellson'
annnyway....using the adapter i took it apart...and placed the connectors for the afformentioned pins..and you'll see the headset icon appear. and then you can run the radio. When i had no wire attached....i could only pick up the very strong signal of a radio broadcasting in the area.
i guess i'll have to experiment with a longer wire....?
Any ideas about whether or not there are other important pins? Ie, that link mentioned in the last post about the radio connector hack seems to be for a w800 and is attaching to two totally different pins. Maybe the actual ANTENNA is on separate pins, but i need to trick it into thinking there's a headset before that even comes into play?
(the site seems to point out that the following are the necessary pins for antenna)

help?
i'm gonna see if i can grab pins from a few more adapters to make an antenna with thos pins attached to see if it makes a signal diff |

there are some very specific rules to do with radio waves n ariels (~laymans speak the ariel length directly relates to frequency tunable.)
so the length for fm/am is @ 8-10cm methinks (any corrections gratefully appreciated//) |

yes 8-10cm is good reception.
@drali, the W800 and W810 are EXACTLY the same pinout, but the link I showed you is using the radio vkp patch so that radio can be used without headset (or pins shorted). However for your hack, just cross pins 4-5 (the headset pins) and attach 8cm leads to the pins in the link. The antenna comes via the wires that lead to the earbuds (it's the longest length therefore best chance reception if stretched out - as they are when in your ears)
